In its 2024 edition, The Legal 500 United States ranked Morrison Foerster’s leading Privacy + Data Security Group as Tier 1 in the “Cyber Law” category (which includes data privacy and data protection). Clients told The Legal 500: “This is a world-class and world-leading cyber/data incident practice. Miriam Wugmeister and Kristen Mathews were both ranked in the Cyber Law: Data Privacy and Data Protection Hall of Fame for another consecutive year. Miriam’s clients report that “she brings a calm confidence to any crisis. Her legal knowledge is unparalleled in my experience but, more than that, she is practical.” Kristen was recognized for her work advising clients on the full spectrum of the most complex privacy and cybersecurity issue.
Boris Segalis, who joined MoFo in March 2024, and Julie O’Neill were both recognized as Leading Lawyers in the Cyber Law: Data Privacy and Data Protection category. Boris is named for his work counseling clients on privacy and cybersecurity issues in the context of strategic product advice, corporate transactions, and regulatory investigations, while clients rely on Julie’s practical advice on cutting-edge issues at the intersection of privacy and consumer protection laws.
Marian Waldmann Agarwal was recommended by The Legal 500 US in the Cyber Law: Data Privacy and Data Protection category for her work advising global clients on the ethical use of AI and the developing legal compliance requirements, including data privacy and regulatory provisions, in connection with the design and implementation of innovative AI tools. Melissa Crespo was also recommended for her work helping clients navigate a wide range of challenging privacy compliance and data security matters with a focus on the health information and the healthcare sector.
Additionally, Tiffany Cheung and Purvi Patel were each recommended by The Legal 500 US in the Cyber Law: Data Privacy and Data Protection category for their work leading class actions at the cutting edge of privacy law, including claims involving data security, biometric information, and businesses’ collection of personally identifiable information.
