This is likely the largest private antitrust case ever brought.</li><li>Copperweld Wiring (Northern District of Alabama and other courts). Representing wire manufacturer in antitrust and false-advertising suit against three major copper wire competitors.</li><li>SoftBank/Sprint/T-Mobile. Represented Sprint and SoftBank before DOJ/FCC and at trial against multiple State Attorneys’ General seeking to block the T-Mobile-Sprint merger as anti-competitive. After a two-week trial, the Court dismissed the case and the merger closed successfully. </li><li>Arm Limited/Softbank. Represented SoftBank Group and Arm Limited on complex antitrust and national security issues arising from NVIDIA’s proposed acquisition of Arm from SoftBank for $65 billion.</li><li>Data Breach and Privacy Matters. Representing a variety of clients in connection with regulatory and litigation issues arising out of data breach events and general data security counseling and compliance.</li><li>FCRA Matters. Representing significant information-service provider in actions around the country alleging violations of the FCRA and related statues and in federal and state regulatory proceedings.</li><li>Southwest Gas Holdings. Obtained antitrust regulatory clearances in connection with Southwest Gas Holdings’ $2 billion acquisition of Questar Pipeline and subsequent sale of certain assets. </li><li>Programmatic Advertising. Represented digital programmatic healthcare advertising firm in lawsuit seeking to block acquisition.</li><li>Alcon Vision (Southern District of New York). Won dismissal of all antitrust claims against a contact lens manufacturer.</li><li>Dale v. T-Mobile, et al. (Northern District of Illinois). Won dismissal of antitrust lawsuit against SoftBank. </li><li>EMV Litigation (Northern District of California). Won dismissal of class action antitrust litigation arising out of the introduction of chip card standards to the US payments sector.</li><li>In re Late Fee and Over-Limit Fee Antitrust Litigation (Northern District of California). Won dismissal of class action challenging late and over-limit fees. Dismissal affirmed on appeal.</li><li>In re Dental Supply Antitrust Litigation (Eastern District of New York). Negotiated resolution of individual and class action antitrust litigation in the dental supplies industry. </li><li>Antitrust and Bank Holding Company Act Litigation (Middle District of Florida). Won dismissal of sprawling antitrust and BHCA litigation on behalf of major financial institution.</li><li>Amadeus IT Group (Southern District of New York). Won dismissal of class action litigation in the travel services industry.</li><li>Overdraft Litigation (Eastern District of Pennsylvania). Represented a major financial institution in successfully resolving class action litigation arising out of overdraft practices.</li><li>Other Merger Clearances. Has obtained merger clearances in the US and EU for clients in the financial services, telecommunications, network services, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, oil and gas, consumer products, chemical, packaging, and metals industries.</li><li>GSE FCRA Litigation (Ninth Circuit, District of Arizona). Won dismissal of FCRA litigation against a large government-sponsored enterprise in the District of Arizona.</li><li>Privacy Litigation (District of Colombia; District of Columbia Superior Court). Won motions to dismiss in two actions that alleged violations of various statutory rights to privacy stemming from customer service practices. Both dismissals affirmed on appeal.</li><li>Richbell Information Services, Inc., et al. v. Jupiter Partners LP, et al. Represented Lord Jacob Rothschild and several publicly traded English investment trusts in the New York Commercial Division in litigation arising out of disputes among shareholders. Resolved successfully for client.</li></ul>

Michael B. Miller

Drawing on his considerable experience in environmental health, William (Bill) focuses his practice on environmental and consumer protection law, with an emphasis on climate-related goals and claims, hazardous substances, mass torts, and consumer product safety. Bill started his career at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Regional Counsel in San Francisco, and he currently leads the firm’s environmental practice.Bill routinely advises clients in connection with their carbon reduction and climate-related goals and claims (including carbon neutral and net zero carbon commitments) and helps clients substantiate their claims and avoid greenwashing claims. He frequently advises clients in connection with the Federal Trade Commission’s Green Guides, state consumer protection statutes, and a broad range of sustainability and chemical disclosure laws. He defends clients in environmental and consumer class action litigation in courts throughout the country and is highly regarded for his ability to coordinate technical, legal, and communications teams to counsel clients through crises. Through this program, he earned a master’s in public health, as well as specialty certification in environmental health risk assessment from the Johns Hopkins Risk Sciences and Public Policy Institute. William F. Tarantino

Claudia focuses her practice on the defense of consumer class actions and on complex commercial litigation, including unfair business competition, false advertising, product liability, and privacy matters. She is currently representing numerous consumer goods manufacturers and retailers in false advertising and mislabeling class action lawsuits. Claudia also regularly counsels clients in the food, cosmetics, retail, and technology industries. She represents companies in false advertising disputes before the National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc.<h5>More about Claudia</h5>Claudia is active in MoFo’s pro bono efforts, and recently traveled to El Paso, Texas, to work with families separated and detained at the border. She is also supervising a pro bono collaboration with Equal Rights Advocates, a nonprofit fighting for gender justice in work places and schools across the country. The initiative will help students who have been victims of sexual assault, attempted assault, or harassment find support and seek justice. Claudia M. Vetesi

Krista deBoer’s practice involves the full range of environmental, climate, and green claims issues.As a partner in MoFo’s Complex Litigation + Advisement practice group, Krista represents clients in environmental and toxic tort litigation, Proposition 65 litigation, and consumer class actions involving hazardous material exposures and claims of health and environmental benefits. She is recommended by The Legal 500 for toxic tort defense (2022). Krista has broad experience in Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and California Hazardous Substance Account Act (HSAA) litigation, multi-party allocation and cost recovery proceedings, natural resource damages claims, and contaminated site cleanup, often involving parallel agency enforcement, where she is skilled at developing integrated strategies to maximize outcomes in both actions.Krista also assists clients with regulatory approvals, compliance, and risk mitigation under federal and state environmental laws, including Department of Energy and California Energy Commission regulations, California Air Resources Board regulations, Federal Trade Commission Green Guides, hazardous waste management regulation, and climate disclosure laws. Alexandra Barlow is a partner in the Litigation Department of Morrison Foerster’s San Diego office.Alexandra litigates product liability matters involving medical devices, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, automobiles, and AI. Alexandra's litigation expertise spans the entire case life cycle in both state and federal courts. She handles all phases of discovery, including fact investigation and expert discovery. Alexandra has taken over twenty-five depositions, including experts, plaintiffs, treating physicians, and third-party witnesses. She drafts and argues motions of all types, including motions for summary judgment, motions to quash, and motions for preliminary injunction.Alexandra has significant trial experience. She has first-chaired a one-week jury trial and second-chaired a five‑week jury trial, both involving multiple claims and witnesses. She also has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution, representing clients at mediations, mandatory settlement conferences, and early neutral evaluations.Alexandra enjoys tracking developments and keeping her clients updated on product liability and personal injury claims, frequently writing or presenting on emerging areas such as autonomous vehicles and smart devices. Alexandra’s experience also extends to professional liability, warranty claims, eminent domain, and construction law.Alexandra earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. While in law school, the San Diego Law Review published her comment on the recovery of damages by plaintiffs in a persistent vegetative state, and she also served as a comment editor. She received her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Spanish. A San Diego native, she attended a Spanish immersion school through the eighth grade. Alexandra is active in the San Diego community, advising students at a local college. She is also a member of several legal organizations in San Diego, including Lawyer’s Club, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and Wallace Inn of Court.
