Brandon van Grack spoke to Congressional Quarterly about the U.S. cracking down on ransomware with the creation of the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team, which is tasked with investigating and prosecuting cryptocurrency crimes, including crypto paid to ransomware groups.
According to Brandon, the issue of cryptocurrency being used for ransomware payments is global. “It’s not as simple as each company taking care of their own; there has to be more of a global solution here,” he said.
