Corey Garyn focuses his work on patent drafting and prosecution in the biomedical sciences.
Prior to joining MoFo, Corey earned his Ph.D. from Columbia University Medical Center, studying how DNA damage drives blood stem cells to generate platelets in response to injury. His research focused on the intersection of stem cell biology, immunology DNA damage, and metabolism. Corey also served as a research fellow in the Stem Cell Biology Unit at the German Primate Center (Deutsches Primatenzentrum), where he gained experience with CRISPR gene‑editing technology, mammalian development, and genome engineering. Through his research, Corey aided in the development of a pipeline for genome engineering of non-human primate cells.
