Our trial lawyers have been described in Chambers as “phenomenal in the courtroom,” “a rare talent,” “incredibly intelligent,” “one step ahead,” an “excellent oral advocate,” “extremely bright with good courtroom presence,” “a juror whisperer,” and as delivering “clear arguments that yield desired results.”

MoFo’s premier multidisciplinary trial practice spans a wide range of subject matters, including antitrust, class action and mass torts, commercial, criminal, intellectual property, product liability, and securities cases. MoFo lawyers regularly try cases in U.S. federal and state courts across the country and before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), international courts, and arbitral fora, in matters of the utmost importance to their clients. Members of our team can take over an existing case heading to trial, supplement an existing trial team, or provide behind-the-scenes strategic advice to help bolster our clients’ likelihood of a successful outcome.

MoFo has a long history of trial excellence and a strong commitment to developing the next generation of trial lawyers. We ensure that our clients have experienced, capable practitioners on all levels of their trial teams. More than 150 MoFo lawyers have served as lead counsel in over 1,000 trials. Additionally, our trial group includes over a dozen former government lawyers who collectively sat as first chair in over 300 trials involving allegations of bank fraud, FCPA violations, public corruption, racketeering, securities fraud, wire fraud, and other complex charges, in state and federal courts in California, the District of Columbia, Florida, New York, Puerto Rico, Virginia, and other jurisdictions. MoFo has a robust trial training program for associates, including the opportunity to conduct trials as part of court‑sponsored referral programs.

Our trial practice group includes fellows in the American College of Trial Lawyers, members of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and more inductees into the California Lawyer Association Hall of Fame than any other firm.
