Brigid Bondoc appeared on HIMSS TV while at the AI in Healthcare Forum to discuss artificial intelligence (AI) and its growing prevalence in clinical settings. Specifically, she spoke to the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approach to balancing the incorporation of new technology while maintaining ethical boundaries.
Regarding current AI policies and legislation coming out of Washington D.C. right now, Brigid said, “It’s very tentative still, but I don’t necessarily think they should be bolder. I think they’re appropriately in listening and wait-and-see mode. You always have to balance that against the need for clarity… but I think that innovation does thrive in places where there’s more flexibility.”
