Bob Litt was a guest on CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront discussing the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) subpoena of the National Archives, a sign the agency is ramping up and broadening the scope of its investigation into the Capitol attack on January 6.
“It’s always hard to tell without actually seeing the subpoena, what it’s requesting, but they’re not going to be looking at the National Archives for emails between members of the Proud Boys,” Bob said. “It surely suggests that there’s a continuing focus on the White House and the administration and what they did in the lead-up to January 6 and the aftermath of January 6. I do think…this had nothing to do with the search at Mar-a-Lago. They’re entirely separate investigations. But this does suggest that they think there are more matters that need to be pursued in connection with January 6, and it’s not going away.”
