Law Graduates Can Tune Into Virtual Ceremony Today

On June 9, 2020, Morrison & Foerster Managing Partner Tessa Schwartz joined a list of notable legal professionals in a virtual ceremony to honor this year’s class of law graduates, hosted by LexisNexis. The San Francisco Daily Journal reported that 15 attorneys, politicians, and various other legal professionals offered the students a warm welcome to the profession and some encouraging words.

Tessa acknowledged the unprecedented time in which to be graduating, and she told students, “We can’t wait to see what you’re going to achieve and how you’re going to make your mark.” She then offered a few points of advice on flexibility and adaptability, making legal recommendations, and considering the company you keep. On accountability, Tessa reminded the students to “Remember to apply the facts to the law as they are, not as you wish they were … You owe that duty to the courts, to the Bar, to your community, to yourself, and to your clients.”
