Justice Department Opens Probe of Sharp Surge in Egg Prices

Lisa Phelan spoke to The Wall Street Journal about the Justice Department’s open investigation into the cause of rising egg prices. She noted that antitrust authorities often open investigations when high prices appear to stem from unusual disruptions to supply chains.

“There can be anticompetitive efforts to deal with the crisis and that is not OK either,” Lisa said.
