The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area (LCCRSF) has selected Morrison Foerster to receive its 2025 Father Cuchulain Moriarty Award for extraordinary pro bono contribution to the nonprofit’s Asylum Project.
The award recognizes MoFo’s outstanding commitment to the project, noting that the firm’s “leadership, compassion and dedication . . . has been extraordinary and impactful, making a meaningful difference in our pursuit of an equitable and just society.”
The team’s achievements included winning asylum in September 2024 for a woman who had survived years of significant and repeated violence in Mexico because she presented and identified as a transgender woman.
The award goes to the dozens of attorneys and business professionals from MoFo who have worked on asylum matters, with special acknowledgment to the extraordinary efforts of the following individuals:

The award will be presented at LCCRSF’s 38th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Awards Dinner on February 27 in San Francisco.
