Annel Becerra Rodriguez is a Litigation associate based in Morrison Foerster’s San Francisco office.Annel obtained her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a senior staff editor and diversity chair for the Columbia Law Review, a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and the recipient of the Campbell Award.During law school, Annel was an appellate extern for the Center for Appellate Litigation, a legal intern for the California Appellate Project, and a Policy and Immigration Defense extern for Bronx Defenders. In addition, Annel was a member of the Immigrants’ Rights Clinic and a mediator with the Mediation Clinic.Annel earned a B.A. in legal studies and Chicano studies from the University of California, Berkeley.

Ken has more than 25 years of experience in intellectual property and other complex, high-stakes commercial litigation and trials. His cases have involved a broad range of technology industries, including software, semiconductor, Internet, and medical devices.Ken has successfully brought and defended numerous trade secret cases in state and federal court. He was a member of the team that successfully tried a recent high-profile smartphone case leading to a jury verdict of over $900 million.He also represented the University of California in patent litigation against a leading life sciences company over a pioneering patent involving human growth hormone. The resulting $200 million settlement, reached after a six-week jury trial, remains one of the top-ten settlements in any biotechnology patent case in the United States.Ken also represents public companies and their officers and directors in securities class actions, shareholder derivative suits, internal investigations, and SEC proceedings. He frequently litigates disputes arising out of mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions. In addition, he represents privately funded and emerging companies in disputes over corporate governance and breaches of fiduciary duty, as well as in disputes among boards of directors, investors, partners, and founders.A significant part of Ken’s practice involves pre-litigation counseling for companies seeking to avoid litigation and/or to better prepare themselves for litigation that may arise. Bonnie Lau helps clients navigate internal and government antitrust investigations, enforcement proceedings, and class action litigation. She advises clients across a range of industries that face government scrutiny or allegations of anticompetitive conduct, including technology, manufacturing, media, telecommunications, healthcare, and financial services.Bonnie has tried several bench and jury trials to verdict, and recently served as lead trial counsel in an antitrust class action jury trial with over a billion dollars of exposure. She has represented companies in antitrust and related complex litigation involving claims of price-fixing, wage-fixing, no-poach conduct, output suppression, monopolization, refusal to deal, predatory pricing, and group boycott, and prosecuted antitrust counterclaims in patent infringement and IP matters. Bonnie has also represented clients in various complex litigation and alternative dispute resolution matters involving unfair competition, RICO, TCPA, and intellectual property claims.Bonnie has received numerous accolades for her legal work. Managing parallel international class actions and coordinating defense of foreign regulatory antitrust investigations.</li><li>Defending the largest broadcast television station operator in the United States in a putative class action alleging price-fixing of television advertising in multiple markets nationwide.</li><li>Defending steel manufacturer and fabricator in monopolization, predatory pricing, unfair competition, and tortious interference federal and state claims.</li><li>Representing technology startup company in monopolization, refusal to deal, tortious interference, and unfair competition federal and state counterclaims.</li><li>Representing a major healthcare company in a criminal investigation.</li><li>Represented SoftBank and Sprint in federal civil litigation proceedings in California in connection with Sprint’s merger with T-Mobile.</li><li>Represented SoftBank and ARM in FTC proceedings in connection with Nvidia’s potential acquisition.</li><li>Won an en banc Eleventh Circuit decision affirming dismissal with prejudice of federal antitrust claims in a multidistrict litigation comprised of 24 individual and putative class action cases across the country that allege antitrust, RICO, and/or steering violations against over a hundred major automobile insurance carriers.</li><li>Won an appeal, defeated three separate attempts to certify a class, excluded expert methodology, and won complete summary judgment of individual claims in antitrust and unfair competition class action against a major automobile insurer, alleging a conspiracy to charge anticompetitive premiums to policyholders.</li><li>Prosecuted an antitrust counterclaim in a patent infringement lawsuit by a non-practicing entity. Following the trial of the patent infringement claims, and a post-judgment remittitur of the award, won complete victory in the Federal Circuit, which reversed the jury’s finding of infringement and vacated the award of damages.</li><li>Prosecuted a Walker Process antitrust counterclaim in a patent and intellectual property infringement lawsuit.</li></ul>

Bonnie Lau

Stella is an associate in the Litigation Department. Her practice focuses on intellectual property litigation.Stella earned her J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School. While in law school, Stella interned for the Honorable Douglas P. Woodlock of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Stella participated in Morrison & Foerster’s Two-Summer Patent Litigation program as a summer associate in the Palo Alto office.Before becoming an attorney, Stella worked for University of Notre Dame’s technology transfer office, where she examined a wide range of university inventions and evaluated their commercialization potential.Stella graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Computer Science from University of Notre Dame, where she was a recipient of the Creedon Merit Scholarship.

Margaret Webb is an associate in Morrison Foerster’s Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s Global Antitrust Law Group. Margaret represents clients in a wide range of antitrust matters, including civil litigation, criminal and internal investigations, and compliance. She also has experience in a variety of commercial disputes, ranging from breach of contract to misappropriation of trade secrets. Her clients span a broad range of industries, including media, technology and software, manufacturing, and health care. Margaret’s active pro bono practice includes representing clients in asylum, civil rights, and free speech matters.Prior to joining Morrison Foerster, Margaret handled complex commercial litigation matters at another global law firm. She received her J.D. from the UC Berkeley School of Law, where she worked on the California Law Review and Berkeley Technology Law Journal. As a law student, Margaret externed for the Honorable Kim Wardlaw in the Ninth Circuit. Margaret received her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Margaret Webb

Rachel Williams is pro bono counsel based in Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office. She is responsible for managing and promoting the participation of lawyers in the firm’s extensive program of providing free legal services to low-income individuals, to nonprofit organizations, and in matters that serve the public interest. Rachel works primarily with lawyers in the firm’s San Francisco, Palo Alto, London, Berlin, and Brussels offices. She is an active member of the Disaster Legal Assistance Collaborative and the board of directors of OneJustice. Rachel joined the firm in 1999. Prior to becoming a pro bono counsel, Rachel was a litigation associate in the firm’s Palo Alto office and worked on attorney training and development initiatives. Before law school, Rachel worked for various nonprofit organizations, was an investigator for the public defender’s office in Seattle, and served as a Coro Public Affairs Fellow in New York City.
