MoFo’s Global Co-Chair of Private Equity Group Marcia Ellis was quoted in an article titled, “As LP Appetite for Co-investments Grows, Asia Needs to Clear Exit Backlog” published on DealStreetAsia.
According to Marcia, Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds are currently seen as some of the biggest investors pursuing the co-investment strategy.
“Given the issues GPs are confronting in certain markets in raising their next fund, we expect the number of co-investment opportunities in those markets to increase in 2025. GPs will be keen to ‘stretch’ their existing funds by using co-investments and to strengthen their ties with large co-investors (and convince them to anchor their next blind pool fund),” she said.
