Morrison Foerster (MoFo) announced the opening of its Amsterdam office on January 08, 2025, to further extend the reach of MoFo’s premier Privacy + Data Security practice, and forge deeper connections with global clients operating in Europe. It is the firm’s 18th office globally and 4th in Europe.
Speaking to Law.com, Eric McCrath discussed the significance of the new office and its role on MoFo’s global platform:
“We don't do anything like this at halfway. [There are] an enormous amount of opportunities in terms of trade between the U.S. and various European partners.”
The article noted that Office Managing Partner for Amsterdam Alex van der Wolk, commented that previously MoFo has supported data privacy and cyber security clients from elsewhere in the network, and that “we’re very happy now to expand that to Amsterdam.” He said he expects the office will primarily support clients with data security incident responses and compliance with EU cybersecurity laws in the short term, alongside supporting clients facing data privacy claims and relevant litigation.
