Carrie H. Cohen spoke to CalMatters about a federal corruption probe into Senator Susan Rubio that leaves the California Senate with no one in charge of its Insurance Committee, exacerbating the state's insurance crisis during the fires in Southern California.
Despite case documents not identifying Rubio by name, she is the only member of the Senate that fits the description listed in the case. Carrie stated, "If federal prosecutors are putting that level of detail — especially in a public corruption matter — into a public-facing document, they are fairly confident that information is 120% correct."
