Six MoFo partners Recognized in Washingtonian’s Top Lawyers List
Morrison Foerster’s David Churchill, Charles Duross, Lisa Phelan, Tina Reynolds, Deanne Maynard, and Kevin Mullen have been named to Washingtonian magazine’s biennial list of top legal talent. The publication selects the best lawyers in 16 practice specialties, noting that it is a difficult task, given that D.C. has a higher concentration of people with J.D.s than anywhere else in the country.
David Churchill was recognized for government contracts. David is a former co-chair of MoFo’s Government Contracts and Public Procurement practice. His practice includes litigation of disputes involving the award, performance, and termination of federal contract disputes before the Court of Federal Claims, the agency boards of contract appeals, and the Government Accountability Office.
Charles Duross was recognized for criminal defense – white collar. Chuck serves as global co-chair of Morrison Foerster’s Investigations + White Collar Defense Practice Group and is a co-leader of its FCPA and Global Anti-Corruption practice. His practice has an emphasis on complex white collar criminal matters, including internal corporate investigations, special committee representation, compliance counseling, due diligence regarding third parties and business transactions, and defense of clients before government enforcement agencies and multilateral investment banks.
Lisa M. Phelan was recognized for antitrust. Lisa is former chief of the National Criminal Enforcement Section of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), co-chair of MoFo’s global Antitrust Law practice, and member of the Investigations + White Collar Defense Group. Few attorneys in the world have the breadth of Lisa’s experience counseling and representing clients through each step of cartel investigations, leniency applications, plea negotiations, and criminal jury trials. Lisa was the first woman to head a criminal team prosecuting national and international cases at the DOJ’s Antitrust Division and the longest-serving female chief at the agency.
Tina Reynolds was recognized for government contracts. Tina is co-chair of MoFo’s Government Contracts and Public Procurement practice. She advises government contractors, including information technology, defense, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical companies, with a focus on general contract counseling and compliance, particularly concerning intellectual property, cybersecurity matters, and federal grant-funding.
Deanne Maynard was recognized for intellectual property. Deanne, co-chair of MoFo’s Appellate and Supreme Court practice, is widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading appellate advocates. She has argued 14 cases before the United States Supreme Court and 75 times in appellate courts across the country.
Kevin Mullen was recognized for government contracts. Kevin is former co-chair of MoFo’s Government Contracts and Public Procurement practice. Kevin has broad experience in numerous facets of government contracts matters, including agency procurements, subcontracting, teaming and joint venture relationships, contract performance issues, intellectual property, compliance matters, due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and procurement fraud matters.
