Christoph has more than 25 years of experience as an M&A and regulatory lawyer in the technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) industries. He has a particular focus on complex transactions as well as the regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) and providing strategic regulatory advice to media and communications companies. Christoph has handled the acquisition of TV providers (ProSiebenSat.1, Sky Deutschland, N24, and Das Vierte); large TV-rights packages (UEFA Champions League, NFL, Bundesliga, and ﬁlm and TV-series packages); and cable network operators (Unitymedia, Tele Columbus, PrimaCom, and pepcom). He also structured joint ventures in the TMT industry (Visoon and netID).Christoph is an honorary professor at the University of Potsdam and lectures on European media law and digital platforms. Heval advises domestic and foreign companies and start-ups in all areas of technology and IP law, including patent and software licensing, employee inventions law, and know-how protection. His advice encompasses domestic and cross-border trademark conflicts and other technology-related disputes. Heval also has extensive knowledge in patent, design, and competition law.Heval studied law at Heidelberg University. During his subsequent work as a research assistant at Julius-Maximilians-Universität in Würzburg, he wrote his Ph.D. thesis on the topic of “Trademark Law Conflicts on the Internet.” Before joining Morrison Foerster, he completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Berlin, including stages at the Federal Chancellery (Department 621 – Fundamental Issues of Digital Policy) and an international law firm in New York.Heval is an associate at Morrison Foerster’s German office in Berlin.

Heval Mienert berät schwerpunktmäßig in- und ausländische Unternehmen und Start-ups in allen Belangen des Technologie- und IP-Rechts.Seine Beratung umfasst unter anderem das Software- und Patentlizenzvertragsrecht, das Arbeitnehmererfindungsrecht sowie Fragen des Know-how-Schutzes. Ein weiterer Fokus seiner Tätigkeit liegt auf inländischen und grenzüberschreitenden Markenrechtsstreitigkeiten. Zudem verfügt Heval Mienert über umfangreiches Wissen im Patent-, Design- und Wettbewerbsrecht.Heval Mienert studierte Rechtswissenschaften an der Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg. Während seiner anschließenden Tätigkeit als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Julius-Maximilians-Universität in Würzburg begann er seine Promotion zu dem Thema „Markenrechtskonflikte im Internet“.
