Bill Tarantino spoke to Science about U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations that have been temporarily thrown out after a district judge’s decision. Bill stated that the problems listed in a July 2021 lawsuit by the Center for Food Safety “should be relatively straightforward for the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service to fix.” He noted that the judge’s decision can’t be quickly or easily reversed, “absent some kind of unusual intervention by the Ninth Circuit or Congress.”
