A pro bono team of lawyers from Morrison Foerster and Cloisters Chambers has received the inaugural Pro Bono Connect Award from LawWorks, a charity committed to enabling access to justice through free legal advice.
The team was recognized for its successful appeal to the Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT), brought by Nigel MacLennan against the British Psychological Society (BPS). The landmark ruling could extend important whistleblower protections to charity trustees in the UK.
Oliver Spratt, of counsel in MoFo’s Employment + Labor practice, led on the pro bono case alongside partner Annabel Gillham, associates Lara King and Dan Alam, and trainee solicitor Michal Pati. Counsel Chris Milsom and Emma Darlow Stearn from Cloisters Chambers appeared on MacLennan’s behalf in the EAT.
