MoFo’s Ryan Adams Recognized as a Law360 Rising Star

Law360 has named MoFo partner Ryan Adams on its annual Rising Star list, noting his talent for compliance law and his time spent at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The list recognizes the achievements of law practitioners under 40 whose “legal accomplishments transcend their age.”

Ryan highlighted his ability to deliver what he describes as “impossible results” for clients across a spectrum of issues—helping them comply with regulations and navigating interactions with the SEC. He is particularly proud of achieving an unprecedented result for a client that received a SEC comment letter saying its use of a particular financial metric was improper, eventually reversing the SEC’s position.

“It was an unprecedented result where the SEC had never really allowed a company to do this before,” Ryan said. “I like to think that I had a big role in it, but the company was really steadfast in its belief, so I was kind of their cheerleader.”
