Q&A with Morrison Foerster’s Silva: It could take years before SEC’s climate regulation is back on track

Fredo Silva spoke to PA Future on why the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) faces a judicial review on its recently-published Climate Disclosure Regulations and how long it could take. He also gave advice to registrants stuck in limbo over what they should be doing to prepare.

"[Registrants] need to be aware that it's not just the SEC rules that could apply to them when it comes to climate disclosures," Fredo said. "They need to be aware of the California rules, and they need to look at the Corporate Sustainability Report Directive rules in the other countries they operate in, then think about whether or not they may have reporting obligations anyway."
