Morrison Foerster Ranked First Among GDR 100’s Global Elite
Morrison Foerster is ranked #1 overall in the 2024 edition of Global Data Review (GDR)’s GDR 100, cementing MoFo’s position as the leading firm handling the world’s most complex and significant global data mandates. The firm has been recognized annually since the inaugural edition of GDR 100, which profiles the world’s best data law firms.
GDR reports that MoFo “boasts an enviably deep bench of senior talent across the globe,” remarking that “from its base in California, the firm can offer data and privacy expertise out of offices throughout Europe, Asia and the United States – combined with equally impressive partners in its other departments, it is well equipped to handle the most complex matters.”
In addition to its recognition as the top firm overall for data, Morrison Foerster was also ranked #1 in Litigation, with GDR highlighting that “Morrison Foerster came on top this year due to its market‑leading work on both sides of the Atlantic. Its AI defense work in the US federal courts is particularly noteworthy; this is a firm that will make a mark in one of the greatest threats to AI operators’ business models.”
Additionally, GDR ranked the firm as #3 overall in the Investigations category, reporting that their research shows that “the world’s data-rich companies turn to a select group of lawyers to handle their regulatory defense work,” with MoFo being described as one of a select few “clear winners.”
Finally, GDR ranked the firm as #3 overall in the Advisory category, with GDR remarking that “what makes firms stand out from the pack” in this area is their “ability to advise clients through their most complex matters.” On this measure, MoFo is described by GDR as performing “exceptionally well” in “a crowded field.”
