Ten from MoFo Named to Law360 Editorial Advisory Boards

Nine MoFo lawyers and the firm’s chief diversity and inclusion officer have been named to Law360’s editorial advisory boards for 2024. The editorial boards provide feedback on Law360’s coverage as well as expert insights on how to best shape future coverage.

• Lisa Phelan was named to Law360’s Competition Editorial Board. Lisa, co-chair of Morrison Foerster’s Global Antitrust Law Group, guides clients through sensitive issues pertaining to domestic and international cartel actions and white-collar investigations. She is the former chief of the National Criminal Enforcement and Washington Criminal I Sections of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
• Whitney Lee was named to Law360’s Cybersecurity & Privacy Editorial Board. Whitney is an associate in the firm’s Privacy + Data Security and Crisis Management practice groups. Her practice focuses on advising clients on significant cybersecurity incidents and other sensitive matters relating to U.S. domestic and international cybercrime, national security, risk, and crisis management.
• Natalie Kernisant was named to Law360’s Diversity & Inclusion Editorial Board. A former attorney, Natalie Kernisant has been a diversity leader at Morrison Foerster since 2013 and was elevated to Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer in 2020. Natalie spearheads firmwide diversity and inclusion (D+I) efforts to break down barriers to equal opportunity and create an ever-more inclusive workplace for all MoFo employees. Under Natalie’s leadership, the Firm has (1) achieved Mansfield Certification Plus status every year since its launch in 2017, (2) introduced the Gender Inclusive Employment Policy; (3) established an independent D+I department and grew it from one to five business professionals; (4) launched the MoFo Allies Network; and much more. 
• Eric Akira Tate was named to Law360’s EA Discrimination Editorial Board. Eric co-chairs MoFo’s Global Employment and Labor Group. He represents boards of directors and companies in #MeToo and other sensitive internal investigations and disputes with executives, whistleblower, wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment, and other employment litigation. He also represents companies in bet-the-company trade secrets and employee mobility cases.
• Alex Ward was named to Law360’s Government Contracts Editorial Board. As co-chair of Morrison Foerster’s Government Contracts and Public Procurement practice, Alex handles the full range of government contracts matters, including bid protests, claims and other litigation, investigations, as well as corporation transactions and counseling.
• Brian Nash was named to Law360’s Intellectual Property Editorial Board. Brian co-chair’s Morrison Foerster’s global IP Litigation Group and cross-disciplinary Intellectual Property Group. He is an established IP trial attorney and leader in the Western District of Texas. He has managed more than 230 IP cases across the United States, before the PTAB, at the ITC, and on appeal in the Federal Circuit, including matters involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights.
• Daphne Higgs was named to Law360’s Legal Tech Editorial Board. Daphne is a partner in Morrison Foerster’s Technology Transactions Group with over 20 years of experience practicing in the technology sector. A trusted advisor to clients ranging from startups to Fortune 50 companies, Daphne possesses a unique ability to strategically and creatively tackle complex issues relating to cutting-edge technologies and also serves on MoFo’s AI Steering Committee.
• Nathaniel Mendell was named to Law360’s Massachusetts Editorial Board. He is a partner in Morrison Foerster’s Investigations + White Collar Defense and Privacy + Data Security practice groups who formerly served as the Acting U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts.
• Kristen Mathews was named to Law360’s New York Editorial Board. Kristen is a partner in MoFo’s Privacy + Data Security Group. An early leader in the privacy sphere, she regularly advises clients on the full spectrum of today’s complex privacy and cybersecurity issues, including compliance with federal and state privacy laws, contracts, cybersecurity preparedness, and data breach incident response.
• Daralyn Durie was named to Law360’s Trials Editorial Board. Daralyn is one of the nation’s preeminent trial lawyers with significant experience litigating high-stakes disputes on behalf of leading innovators in the technology and life sciences sectors. She draws on decades of experience serving as lead counsel in complex matters and securing successful outcomes in major litigation.

Eric is serving his third consecutive year on his assigned board, while Natalie, Nathaniel, and Kristen are each serving their second consecutive year.
