Utah Becomes the Latest State to Limit DE&I in State Universities and Government

Andrew Turnbull was quoted in an HR Brew article covering Utah’s recent legislation restricting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in state government. Andrew told HR Brew how DEI programs in public education and government are being targeted, in part, to send a message to the business world.

“There’s a lot of different reasons they’re doing this but one of those is to scare other companies to comply into not doing these types of initiatives,” he said. “The legislation is certainly something for a lot of companies to monitor. Unfortunately, this is just creating one of those situations where a lot of companies are getting caught in the crosshairs of the pro and anti DEI frameworks.”
