Brian Kramer honored by San Diego Business Journal as a Top 100 Mentors of the Year
San Diego Business Journal has recognized Morrison Foerster partner Brian Kramer as one of its Top 100 Mentors of the Year in 2024. The award recognizes the most active and influential mentors in business in San Diego.
Brian is an established trial lawyer who is known for leading high-profile intellectual property disputes in district courts across the nation and on appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has successfully tried cases in U.S. district courts and successfully argued appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. His trial experience includes obtaining a jury verdict of non-infringement for a client sued by a rival for over $100 million, a bench trial involving a drug with annual sales over $4 billion, and securing a $775 million patent litigation settlement for client, Chugai Pharmaceutical Co.
As head of the litigation group in San Diego, Brian acts as a mentor to dozens of attorneys of varying levels of seniority. He specifically mentors junior attorneys who litigate patent cases with him. In every case, Brian finds opportunities for junior attorneys to argue motions, take depositions, and meet clients. Brian also annually serves as a partner mentor to incoming associates joining the firm as part of its Summer Associate program.
Brian is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, Federal Circuit Bar Association, and American Bar Association. Brian is the past president of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of San Diego. Brian also serves as the president of the Board of Directors of the Japan Society of San Diego and Tijuana. In law school, he served as an associate editor of the University of Illinois Law Review and as the first managing editor of the University of Illinois Journal of Law, Technology & Policy.
