Christiane Stuetzle and Christoph Nüßing have been shortlisted for The Legal 500 Germany Awards 2024. Christiane has been shortlisted as the Tech & Media Lawyer of the Year, while Christoph has been shortlisted as the Tech & Media Rising Star of the Year. The inaugural award series is set to recognize the leading lawyers, law firms and in-house legal departments in Germany, based on The Legal 500’s independent research.
Christiane Stuetzle is a partner of Morrison Foerster and Co-Chair of the firm's Global Film & Entertainment Group. She is a Certified Specialist in Copyright and Media Law and an Arbitrator at the International Arbitration of the Independent Film & Television Alliance, Los Angeles. Christiane advises multinational platforms on copyright, AI, digital compliance, platform liability and corresponding (EU) legislation, often at the intersection of legal, business and technology.
German newspaper Der Tagesspiegel also calls her “Hollywood’s Lawyer in Germany” as she advises US studios, streamers and producers on the financing, production and distribution of films and series and the legal impact on the use of new technologies such as AI. In regards to audiovisual content, she advises Hollywood studios, streamers, independent producers, and gaming and toy companies on the development, financing, production, and distribution of films, series, and other content. With a strong background in the arts, she also advises several renown artists, galleries, and museums in copyright matters and at the intersection of new technologies, such as the use of AI or NFTs. Christiane is co-author of the Munich Handbook of Copyright and Media Law and lecturer in this field.
Christoph Nüßing is a counsel who advises clients on a broad range of regulatory questions and has particular industry-specific experience in the areas of technology, media, and telecommunication. His practice focuses on the compliance with sector-specific EU and national laws, with a particular focus on strategic advice regarding emerging new legislation. Among Christoph’s clients are many companies that operate successful online services, including social networks, online marketplaces, media platforms, or video-sharing services, and he particularly assists them in the areas of content moderation, media regulation, and the protection of minors. He also helps clients that provide any kind of communications service, operate cable networks, or aim to launch new technology solutions such as robotics or AI in the EU navigate the specific regulatory landscape that applies to their products or services.
