Marcia Ellis is quoted in Eco-Business’s article on MoFo’s finding in its Asia Funds ESG Survey that weak sustainability ratings are not necessarily dealbreakers for Asia-headquartered funds.
The article reports that over 90 per cent of general partners expressed confidence in improving the sustainability practices of businesses with neutral or negative ESG credentials after including them in their portfolios. Marcia said a lot of the funds see this as an opportunity to negotiate for a better price for the company and to increase the company’s value by turning around bad ESG issues.
