Bill Tarantino was quoted in a Reuters – TR Regulatory Intelligence article discussing climate disclosure‑related bills signed by California governor Gavin Newsom that will affect many companies as early as next year, requiring firms to invest and ensure they have compliance programs in place.
According to Bill, “It does require some detailed disclosures pretty quickly and it is a challenge because there are a lot of companies trying to re-evaluate their carbon strategies.” He added that there has been plenty of press attention and class action lawsuits over whether voluntary carbon credits support the representations companies are using them for.
