SL Green initially bought the nearly 50-story structure with the goal of repositioning the asset with a partner, which it found in Mori Trust, an operator of dozens of buildings and hotels in Japan. Under the deal’s terms, Mori Trust took on half of the $1.76 billion debt encumbering the property.
