Whitney Lee and Lisa V. Zivkovic have been named to the 2023 “On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers” list by the American Bar Association (ABA). The annual list honors ABA young lawyer members for their broad range of achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, and legal and community service.
Whitney Lee is an associate in Morrison Foerster’s Privacy + Data Security, Crisis Management, and National Security Practice Groups. Whitney’s practice focuses on advising clients on significant cybersecurity incidents and other sensitive matters relating to domestic and international cybercrime, national security, risk, and crisis management, including matters that involve multijurisdictional investigations and significant media attention. Whitney has substantial experience managing third-party forensic and internal investigations, e-discovery efforts and communications with relevant regulatory agencies and impacted stakeholders. She has successfully defended clients in numerous regulatory inquiries regarding data security practices, including investigations by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, state attorneys general, and foreign regulators following data security incidents. Whitney also has considerable experience advising clients on the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) and the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA). She is also the founder of CYREIN, a pro bono consulting service founded to address the rise of cyberstalking and cyber-harassment.
Dr. Lisa V. Zivkovic is an associate in Morrison Foerster’s Privacy + Data Security Group. With a Ph.D in data privacy from NYU, Lisa leverages her extensive academic knowledge to assist market-leading clients in navigating cutting-edge privacy issues, particularly in AI and financial privacy, as well as data breach response and planning, and government investigations. As a doctoral student, Lisa forged a new academic discipline by completing a comparative legal and technical history of data privacy in the U.S. and Europe. As a result of her background, she is uniquely and intimately comfortable with technological innovation. Much of her practice involves operating at the intersection of privacy and technology, assisting clients with novel concerns related to the use of AI models in client services, as well as with building and enhancing their global privacy and data security compliance programs. Lisa’s wide range of clients include multinational companies across sectors, including AI, media and content providers, cryptocurrency, big tech, insurance, hospitality, and financial services. In addition, Lisa regularly advises on the privacy and security aspects of some of the most complex, technology deals, acting for a range of household names that ingest and process large amounts of consumer data. She is also the co-Chair of the Young Professionals Board for Access Justice Brooklyn, which provides high-quality, pro bono legal services and community education to Brooklynites in need.
