Morrison Foerster was named the Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year by Chambers USA. The awards recognize preeminent law firms in key U.S. jurisdictions and reflect their achievements over the past 12 months, including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth, and excellence in client service.
The award follows the extraordinary success of Morrison Foerster’s IP team in the latest edition of Chambers USA, where the firm achieved several new top-tier rankings. The MoFo IP Group attracted significant praise from clients, who laud the “very capable and experienced team” and remark that “the breadth of the firm’s technical expertise has established it as a one-stop shop for IP matters.”
MoFo became the only firm that is ranked in Band 1 across all of Chambers’ IP categories in California, including in California: Intellectual Property: Patent Litigation; California: Intellectual Property: Trademark, Copyright & Trade Secrets; and California: Intellectual Property: Patent Prosecution.
MoFo’s D.C. team also achieved notable success, with two attorneys achieving top-level rankings. Similarly, MoFo’s Austin office, following the firm’s expansion into Texas in March 2022, was also recognized with two Patent Litigation partners achieving rankings in the Texas: Intellectual Property section. Additionally, one of MoFo’s experienced patent licensing practitioners was ranked in Band 1 in Massachusetts. Further highlighting the firm’s success in building a nationally recognized IP practice, MoFo’s ranking in the Nationwide: Intellectual Property category was increased in the 2023 edition, and MoFo was ranked as a top-tier firm in Chambers’ Nationwide: Technology section.
Notably, MoFo’s Appellate practice was honored in Band 1 in the newly introduced Nationwide: Intellectual Property: Appellate category, reflecting the team’s superb knowledge of IP law, experience in venues across the nation and in global forums, and facility in explaining cutting-edge technologies to juries. MoFo’s leading ITC Litigation practice was also highly recognized in Chambers’ Nationwide coverage.
