Marcia Ellis named Private Equity Lawyer of the Year at the 2023 Asia Legal Awards

Morrison Foerster partner and global co-chair of the firm’s Private Equity Practice Marcia Ellis has been named Private Equity Lawyer of the Year at the 2023 Asia Legal Awards, presented by Law.com International. The Asia Legal Awards celebrate the most complex and outstanding legal work in the region.

Marcia is one of the most experienced and sophisticated private equity lawyers active in the Asian market. Known as a “super-skilled technical lawyer” with “incredible problem-solving skills on all aspects of matters,” she has advised on matters with total aggregate value over US$237 billion in the last three years alone and has built MoFo’s private equity offering into the thriving practice it is today.

This recognition is one of several that Marcia has recently received, including being shortlisted as an Innovative Practitioner at theFinancial Times Innovative Lawyers Asia Pacific 2023 Awards and being named Dealmaker of Asia 2022 by Asian Legal Business (ALB), the third consecutive year Marcia was named in this category. In 2022, Marcia was named to Law360’s 2022 Private Equity Editorial Board and IFLR1000’s Women Leaders 2022, and under her leadership, the MoFo Private Equity Group was, for the first time ever, named 2021 Practice Group of the Year by Law360.
