Alex Iftimie spoke to the Daily Journal about the upward trend in cybersecurity attacks and data breaches, especially as more companies have adopted a remote working model in the years after the coronavirus outbreak.
According to Alex, the working-from-home model has sped up what was, “already an inevitable trend toward more decentralized networks.”
He explained that clients were already moving away from consolidated networks toward cloud environments and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) before the pandemic, and that securing such networks will require a different way of thinking.
It’s important to be on the right side of industry-specific security requirements, Alex said, adding that it would be helpful for attorneys advising their clients to consolidate relevant information shared by state of federal agencies into an easily digestible format.
“Companies face a growing patchwork of cyber regulations as more regulators develop their own unique rules regarding notification requirements and minimum cybersecurity standards,” Alex said.
