Alexis Amezcua and Jamie Levitt Recognized for Commitment to Advancing the Empowerment of Women in Law
Corporate Counsel has recognized Morrison Foerster partners Alexis Amezcua and Jamie Levitt in its 2022 Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards. The WIPL Awards honor general counsel, in-house leaders, and law firm partners who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law and diversity in the legal industry.
Alexis Amezcua was named a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champion. Alexis has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to diversity and inclusion, serves as co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Strategy Committee, and is the past Litigation hiring partner for the San Francisco office. She is a founding member of MoFo’s Latinx and Women of Color affinity groups. Alexis is also involved in the community as a former board member of the Bar Association of San Francisco and a current board member of California Change Lawyers, an organization focused on diversifying California’s legal profession. Alexis was recently named a Top Latino Lawyer by Latino Leaders Magazine and has mentored numerous women, diverse associates, and law students.
Jamie Levitt was named a Managing Partner of the Year. A dedicated leader at MoFo and in the wider legal industry, Jamie serves as managing partner of MoFo’s New York office and chair of The Morrison & Foerster Foundation, and sits on MoFo’s Board of Directors and its Governance Committee. Jamie is also the former head of the New York Litigation Department and former chair of MoFo’s Pro Bono Committee. Jamie serves on numerous boards and committees of public interest groups, including having served on the Board of the Federal Bar Council and as past chair of its Public Service Committee; executive vice president and past chair of the Board of Advocates for Children of New York, Inc.; chair of the Board of New York Lawyers for the Public Interest; member of the Board of VisionSpring; past member of the Board of the Center for Reproductive Rights; and past member of the Legal Advisory Board for Sanctuary for Families.
