Christoph has more than 25 years of experience as an M&A and regulatory lawyer in the technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) industries. He has a particular focus on complex transactions as well as the regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) and providing strategic regulatory advice to media and communications companies. Christoph has handled the acquisition of TV providers (ProSiebenSat.1, Sky Deutschland, N24, and Das Vierte); large TV-rights packages (UEFA Champions League, NFL, Bundesliga, and ﬁlm and TV-series packages); and cable network operators (Unitymedia, Tele Columbus, PrimaCom, and pepcom). He also structured joint ventures in the TMT industry (Visoon and netID).Christoph is an honorary professor at the University of Potsdam and lectures on European media law and digital platforms. Andreas is managing partner of Morrison Foerster’s German office in Berlin and a member of the firm’s worldwide board of directors. He heads the German antitrust and regulatory practice from our Berlin and Brussels offices.A seasoned antitrust lawyer, Andreas represents public and private companies in merger control proceedings before the German Federal Cartel Office and the European Commission, and he handles multijurisdictional merger filings around the world. He further provides counsel on a wide range of his clients’ day-to-day operations, on matters such as abuse of market dominance, information exchange, vertical restraints, or antitrust compliance. A particular emphasis of Andreas’ antitrust practice is on recent legislative developments like the “Competition Law Digitalization Act” in Germany or the EU’s Digital Markets Act.Andreas’s regulatory practice focuses on the technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) sector. He advises on media regulation (e.g., advertising rules, youth protection, platform and intermediary regulation, media ownership control) and on telecoms laws (e.g., international licensing requirements, frequency and numbering allocations). In addition, Andreas’ practice covers issues like hate speech regulation (e.g., the German Network Enforcement Act), the EU’s Geo-Blocking Regulation, and the application of traditional regulatory laws to OTT services. Andreas also advises his clients on their public policy initiatives in relation to current legislative developments in the TMT sector. Andreas studied law in Würzburg and Münster (Dr. iur.). Prof. Dr. Andreas Grünwald ist Managing Partner des Berliner Büros und Mitglied im weltweiten Board of Directors von Morrison Foerster. Patrick has more than 15 years of experience advising clients on compliance and corporate governance and on internal investigations. His practice has a particular emphasis on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) related topics.Patrick focuses his advisory work on internal investigations, setting up compliance management systems and adapting them to a broad range of new risks, such as those relevant for global value chains. This includes, for example, supply chain risk management for Germany’s Supply Chain Due Diligence Act and related human rights-motivated complaints and litigation; prevention and investigation of white-collar crime (e.g., bribery, fraud, corruption, embezzlement, and U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) matters); avoidance of economic sanctions; and fulfillment of tax and environmental law requirements. He also advises clients on ESG requirements derived from the laws of the European Union (CSRD, NFDR, CSDDD).
