MoFo advised Unity (NYSE: U), a leading platform for creating and operating real-time 3D content, in connection with an asset carve-out acquisition from Weta Digital, for certain assets including its audio-visual effects development and management software tools for a purchase price of $1.625 billion in a combination of cash and stock. Weta Digital is a New Zealand-based premier creator and innovator of visual effects and animation for a wide variety of award-winning movies and television shows, such as Avatar, Black Widow, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes, The Suicide Squad, and more.
