Megan Gerking, Mary Prendergast, and David J. Shaw have been named 2021 D.C. Rising Stars by The National Law Journal. Morrison & Foerster has the highest number of rising stars compared to other firms this year. The Rising Star Awards recognize the 40 most promising lawyers age 40 and younger in the Washington, D.C. area who have become influential in their areas of practice.
Megan, a partner in Morrison & Foerster’s Global Antitrust Law group, was chosen for her work representing companies and executives in high-stakes criminal and civil conduct antitrust investigations and merger reviews before the Department of Justice and, the Federal Trade Commission, in addition to other state and foreign competition authorities, state enforcers, and in all phases of merger clearance and review before United States and foreign competition authorities.
Mary, a partner and one of Morrison & Foerster’s go-to trial lawyers in IP cases, was recognized for her work on complex patent and trade secrets cases in district courts across the country and at the International Trade Commission, where she represents clients in a wide variety of industries, including semiconductors, software, medical devices, electronics, and pharmaceuticals.
David, a partner in Morrison & Foerster’s Global Antitrust Law group, was selected as a Rising Star for his work advising and representing clients across the full spectrum of government-facing antitrust matters, including merger review investigations and litigated challenges, single-firm conduct investigations, and cartel investigations.
