Morrison & Foerster’s London Office Wins 2019 LawWorks Pro Bono Award
Morrison & Foerster is honored to be named the winner of the LawWorks 2019 Pro Bono Awards in the “Best Pro Bono Contribution by a Medium Firm” category. LawWorks, a UK-based charity committed to enabling access to justice through free legal advice, selected MoFo for our London office’s work with Z2K (Zacchaeus Trust 2000), a nonprofit dedicated to helping clients who are seeking disability benefits navigate the challenging social security and welfare system in the UK.
Lady Brenda Hale, president of the UK Supreme Court, presented the award to the firm during the organization’s annual reception on December 3, 2019, at the Law Society, Chancery Lane, London.
MoFo’s work with Z2K, which began in February 2018, has had a tremendous impact. The team has taken approximately 30 cases to Tribunal hearings, with a success rate of over 90 percent for appeals. To date, the MoFo team has helped secure more than £500,000 in additional benefits for our clients.
