Michael O’Bryan published an article in Daily Journal titled, “Key legal and regulatory trends for M&A in 2024,” that highlighted how generative artificial intelligence (AI) poses new challenges for M&A deals, privacy and security issues that are on the rise, and the impacts of shareholder activism.
Regarding privacy and security concerns, Michael wrote, “Data privacy and security issues have become key considerations in M&A, with data becoming more valuable (sometimes emerging as an unexpectedly large asset as well as a source of obligations to others) and threats more pervasive and insidious.”
