We witnessed a number of trends in venture capital financings in 2021, including a significant increase in the number of deals as well as the average size of financing rounds. Valuations continued to rise, for both angel and later rounds as well as company exits. Geographically, the United States continued to set the pace for VC dollars, though Asia saw more deals than any other region in the world. Deal terms continued to grow more company friendly, continuing a long-term trend during the current economic expansion.
