World Password Day
World Password Day
Most of us use passwords for everything—from signing onto smartphones, computers, and other digital devices, to online shopping, banking, paying bills, and for apps for a variety of purposes. But “Password1”, your birthday, or the name of your company are not good passwords. And every day, millions of people endanger their information and privacy by using weak passwords like these…or worse (we’re looking at you “123”). That’s why annually, on the first Thursday in May, we recognize World Password Day. It’s a special holiday on the calendar that was started in 2013 with the goal of reminding us to take control of our personal password strategies.
With that in mind, below we’ve listed some top tips for World Password Day. Start now with a password overhaul and strengthen your personal online privacy practices.
