Chris Lyon and Hywote Taye authored an article for CPO Magazine that covers California’s landmark new Internet of Things (IoT) security law, which attempts to address growing concerns about protecting the security of everyday objects that connect to the Internet.
“The new California IoT security law applies to anyone who manufactures, or contracts with others to manufacture on its behalf, connected devices that are sold or offered for sale in California,” the authors wrote, adding that the law is not limited to consumer devices and that “the definition of ‘connected device’ appears broad enough to cover even devices intended for industrial or other B2B purposes.”
