MoFo Shanghai Managing Partner Chuan Sun spoke at “Shenzhen Support for Private Companies Expanding into Overseas Markets – Electronic Information Industry Session,” organized by the Development and Reform Commission of Shenzhen Municipality to connect professional service providers with private companies.
Chuan delivered a presentation on “Going Global: Key Intellectual Property Protection and Compliance Issues for Chinese Electronic Information Companies,” addressing the key IP issues Chinese companies face when expanding internationally. Key topics included:
• Proactive IP planning for international expansion (e.g., patent and trademark prosecution, infringement risk assessments, etc.)
• IP strategy across multiple countries
• Cross-border IP partnerships (including acquisitions and licensing)
• IP compliance management
Nearly 130 industry professionals and government officials attended this event, including from 65 private electronic information companies and 34 professional service firms and state-owned enterprises, as well as the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, the Municipal Finance Office, Justice Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, and Shenzhen Customs.
