MoFo and the Fund Finance Association Celebrate Pride and Allyship in Singapore
Singapore
More than 90 colleagues, clients, and friends attended a cocktail reception in celebration of Pride and allyship hosted by MoFo in partnership with the Fund Finance Association at MoFo’s Singapore office on June 22.
Following welcome remarks by MoFo Singapore Managing Partner Shirin Tang, MoFo’s Daniel Levison led a fireside discussion with distinguished guest speakers Kathy Teo and Ali Potia, co-founders of Q Chamber, Singapore’s first LGBTQ+ and allied chamber of commerce, on some of the current issues facing our LGBTQ+ communities, as well as some very practical and actionable ideas on what we can do to support them.
Kathy Teo – As well as being a co-founder and executive committee member of Q Chamber, Singapore’s first LGBTQ+ and allied chamber of commerce, Kathy was recently appointed co-chair of the board of Outright International, a leading international NGO that addresses human rights violations and abuses against LGBTQ+ people. Kathy has also been a driver for the Red Dot for Pink Dot sponsorship campaign, and her company has been a steadfast sponsor of Pink Dot SG. In 2019 and 2020, she was listed in the OUTstanding Top 100 LGBT+ Executives Role Model List.
Ali Potia – Ali is a partner at McKinsey & Company in Singapore, where he is a leader in the Consumer Packaged Goods and Retail practices in Southeast Asia. He also leads Diversity & Inclusion for McKinsey Asia, including the firm’s LGBTQ+ affinity network GLAM (Gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender and queer at McKinsey). In this capacity, he created McKinsey and Company’s first mentorship program for LGBTQ+ colleagues and co-convenes a senior leadership master class that brings together LGBTQ executives from across Asia.
Daniel Levison – Daniel is head of Litigation in Singapore and leads the firm’s Ethics and Compliance regional practice in Asia. He is a member of the firm’s global Diversity Committee, where he plays a leadership role in some of the firm’s global diversity initiatives, notably as a member of the Board of Directors of the firm’s pro bono client Lawyers for LGBT & Allies Network. Daniel was shortlisted by Chambers for its inaugural Asia-Pacific Diversity & Inclusion Award in 2020 and also for the second edition of this award in 2023.
