Kate Driscoll, a member of the firm’s Investigations + White Collar Defense group, recently served as a speaker at the 2022 White Collar Practice Seminar hosted by the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (PACDL). Alongside other experienced defense attorneys, Kate provided insights on the rapidly changing arena of healthcare enforcement and prosecutions after Ruan and recent DOJ initiatives, including the continued focus on telehealth fraud, sober homes, anti-kickback schemes, and expectations for future enforcement trends. The panel also covered how State Attorney’s General Offices continue to become more active in healthcare fraud enforcement in the Northeast Region and lessons from the recent Theranos trial verdicts.
PACDL is a leading organization for the Pennsylvania criminal defense bar in providing members with more continuing legal education opportunities, resources, leadership, and networking.
