Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies are no longer simply “the right thing to do.” As market incentive structures have shifted, ESG factors drive bottom lines. Morrison & Foerster and ERM will present a webinar series across two sessions on ESG within private equity. We hope you can attend one or both sessions.
Session 1: Navigating Key Legal & Compliance Issues – ESG-Focused Fund and Portfolio Company-Level Strategies
Join us for a panel discussion including industry leaders who will explore ESG strategies through a compliance lens. Our panel will explore the key legal and compliance issues that funds should consider at both the fund and portfolio company level. The panel will discuss the “Big Six” compliance issues that are essential to all investors and companies, including Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery, Cybersecurity and Privacy, Sanctions, Human Rights and Supply Chain, Climate, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Session 2: Driving Returns – How to Integrate ESG into PE Investments
Considering ESG factors when making an investment is no longer solely the province of impact investors—those who prioritize social or environmental impact in addition to the return on capital—but has become, to one degree or another, the norm among private equity (PE) funds. Our panel of industry leaders will discuss the key factors that funds should consider, and the plethora of tools at the disposal of funds to forge their own strategies that either promote (or at least consider) social and environmental impacts. The panel will discuss how to integrate ESG factors into the overall strategy of various types of asset managers, including deal selection, pre-investment diligence, investment documents, and portfolio management.
