Cory Ellison is a patent agent in the San Francisco office of Morrison & Foerster. Dr. Ellison’s practice involves patent application drafting, patent prosecution, matters pertaining to plant variety protection both in the U.S. and abroad, freedom-to-operate analyses and other due diligence matters, particularly in the agricultural biotechnology space.

Dr. Ellison received his Ph.D. in plant biology from the University of California, Davis in 2012 and he has particular expertise in plant molecular biology and plant genetics. His doctoral research in the laboratory of Dr. Stacey L. Harmer focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms that modulate the circadian system in higher plants. This research allowed Dr. Ellison to gain broad experience in diverse aspects of plant biology, including plant responses to the environment, hormone signaling, epigenetics and chromatin regulation.
