James P. Bennett has been honored in The National Law Journal's 2008 "Winning" special report for two significant case wins in the past year. In November 2007, he led his team to a complete victory in the JDS Uniphase Corp. trial, the largest securities class action to go before a U.S. jury. Mr. Bennett also prevailed in trials for client Mercury Cos., accused in the largest corporate raiding case in the title insurance industry. The "Winning" feature recognizes victors of 10 cases from scores of nominations offered. The National Law Journal honors these lawyers for "shar[ing] a knack for artfully swaying judges and juries and taking risks when they see the opportunity to seize an advantage in the courtroom".
