  • Japan Telecom/Vodafone AirTouch
    Represent Vodafone AirTouch in the formation of J Phone Communications, a joint venture with Japan Telecom and BT to provide $6,400,000,000 in funding for the build out of next generation mobile phone systems by regional J Phone companies.

     

  • NTT Holdings/Internap
    Represent NTT Holdings in the formation of a joint venture with NTT ME and Internap Network Services to provide high-speed Internet connectivity services in Japan.

     

  • NTT/AT&T
    Represent NTT in its $500,000,000 cooperative relationship with AT&T for the provision of global network solutions.

     

  • NTT/Sri Lanka Telecom
    Represent NTT in its acquisition of a 33% interest in Sri Lanka Telecom for $225,000,000.

     

  • NTT/Verio
    Represent Verio, the world’s largest operator of web sites for businesses, in NTT’s $5,000,000,000 tender offer for, and acquisition of, the company.

     

  • SOFTBANK Corp/Cisco Systems
    Represent SOFTBANK Corp. in its $1,500,000,000 strategic alliance with Cisco, including Cisco’s funding of a $1,000,000,000 investment fund focusing on wireless and broadband service providers in the Asia-Pacific region.

     

  • SOFTBANK Corp/Korea Thrunet
    Represent SOFTBANK CORP. in its $250,000,000 investment in Korea Thrunet  a leading operator of broadband service networks in Korea.

     

  • Fujitsu Network Communications/Nexion
    Represent FNC in its $130,000,000 acquisition of the U.S. telecommunications business of Ascom Holding AG.

     

  • Carlyle Group/eAccess 
    Represent Carlyle as a lead investor (together with Japan Telecom and Goldman Sachs) in a $100,000,000 financing of eAccess, a Japanese provider of broadband-Internet access services.

     

  • Marubeni/Asia Global Crossing
    Represent Marubeni in the restructuring of Pacific Crossing Limited and Global Access Limited, its trans-Pacific submarine and Japanese terrestrial fiber-optic cable joint ventures with Asia Global Crossing.

     

  • NTT/Teligent
    Represent NTT in its acquisition of a 12.5% interest in Teligent LLC for $100,000,000.

     

  • SOFTBANK Corp/Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO)
    Represent SOFTBANK CORP in its joint venture with Tokyo Electric Power to offer wireless internet services in the Tokyo metropolitan area.

     

  • SOFTBANK Networks/Harmonix
    Represent SOFTBANK Networks in its investment in Harmonix Corporation, a developer of wireless communications/data transmission equipment.

     

  • Fujitsu/OpenCon Systems
    Acquisition by Fujitsu of a minority interest in a U.S. developer of SONET telecommunications protocols.

     

  • @Nifty/SingTel
    Represent @Nifty, Japan’s largest ISP, in its strategic alliance with Singapore Telecom to provide roaming ISP and Asia wide content on a cooperative basis.

     

  • Toshiba/Audiovox Communications Corp.
    Represent Toshiba in its strategic alliance with Audiovox Communications Corp., including its equity investment in Audiovox and the extension of its agreements for distribution of Toshiba's mobile communications devices in the America.

     

  • Mobile Broadcasting/TU Media
    Represent Mobile Broadcasting Corp., subsidiary of Toshiba Corporation, in its investment in TU Media, a Korean mobile broadcast company.

     

  • Mobile Broadcasting/SK Telecom
    Represent Mobile Broadcasting Corp. in its strategic alliance with SK Telecom for the development of new mobile broadcast services in Japan and Korea.

     

  • ACCA Networks/NTT Communications/Covad
    Represent ACCA Networks, a leading Japanese DSL provider, in its financing by and strategic alliance with NTT Communications and NASDAQ-listed Covad Communications.

     

  • Mitsui/ORBCOMM
    Represent Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in the formation of ORBCOMM Japan, a joint venture established to provide digital communications in Japan via low earth orbital satellites.

     

  • Global OnLine/Exodus Communications
    Represent Global Online in its acquisition by Exodus Communications, a provider of Internet hosting and data-management services.

     

  • PowerBand Communications/Whitney & Co.
    Represent PowerBand Communications in its Series A, Series B and Series C financings from J.H. Whitney & Co., WorldView Technology Partners, Apax Globis Partners & Co. and SOFTBANK Internet Technology Fund II and III. 

     

  • China Putian and Beijing Capitel
    Represent China Putian and Beijing Capital in the merger of Nokia’s four existing joint ventures in China into a single joint venture.
