Diversity
Diversity has been a central part of life at Morrison & Foerster for many years. Morrison & Foerster was one of the first law firms to address diversity issues across the full scope of its operations, and we continue to be recognised as a leader in diversity issues.
It is central to our firm that we are committed to providing equal opportunity to everyone on the basis of individual ability and individual performance, without unlawful discrimination because of race, colour, sex, religion, ethnic or national origin, age, disability (including persons infected with the HIV virus or persons with AIDS), marital status, sexual orientation, weight and height, or victimisation for opposition to any such discrimination.
We believe that diversity is important both in the sense of providing equal opportunity to all - but also in the sense of ensuring mutual respect and quality of life for our people. Diversity is important because it's the right thing to do, but it also delivers tangible benefits both to our employees and to our clients who have a right to expect to quality advice delivered by a law firm where diversity and respect for others is deeply ingrained.
In our European offices, we play a full role in the Firm's diversity initiative. We have a local Diversity Committee, drawn from our European practice and including partners, associates and administrative staff - and we work hard to make sure that we recognise and respond to diversity issues.
