Mr. Bates' practice focuses on corporate finance and the representation of institutional issuers and lenders in the U.S. institutional financial marketplace. He represents clients in a range of financing transactions, including bank syndications, private debt and equity placements, various bank finance products, high yield offerings and mezzanine and LBO financings. He has a specialised practice representing non-U.S. entities who wish to make cross-border private placements of securities to U.S. financial institutions.

Mr. Bates leads the finance practice in the London office and is a partner in the London office's Financial Transactions Group.
