Description:
Microsoft Corp. v. Franchise Tax Board and Other Gross Receipts Cases
Featured Speaker:
Brian W. Toman, Partner, Preston Gates & Ellis (Former Chief Counsel of the California Franchise Tax Board)
As Chair and Vice Chair of the Taxation Section of the San Francisco Barristers Club, we are delighted to announce the first
in a series of bi-monthly breakfast meetings covering current state and local tax issues. Our first meeting, sponsored by
The Bar Association of San Francisco and Morrison & Foerster LLP, takes place on Thursday, April 29, 2004. We will feature
a discussion of Microsoft Corp. v. Franchise Tax Board and other gross receipts cases by Brian Toman, a partner at Preston
Gates & Ellis and former Chief Counsel of the California Franchise Tax Board.
We hope these meetings will not only provide a forum for discussing current developments in state and local tax law, but also
an opportunity for the Bay Area's state and local tax community to meet on a regular basis. One hour of CLE and CPE credit
will be provided.
We hope to see you on April 29th! We will send invitations to future breakfast meetings approximately 3-4 weeks in advance.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
